Raps lose, Ron Wilson finds a fallen man, kicks
The Raptors lost last night in O.T. to the Celtics , 115-109. Paul Pierce destroyed the Raptors with a season high 39 points, Kevin Garnett made a strange attempt at humor after the game- “I’ll be Batman. I’ll be Robin, I’ll be anybody you want me to be. I’ll be the garbage man. But this is Clark Kent right here.” I’m not sure exactly where the garbage man fits in with the rest of his superhero analogy, but I guess he’s just furthering his ideas that anything truly is possible. The Raps actually played pretty well. Bargnani continues to impress, dropping 23 and 8. The raps come home to face the Bulls tomorrow night, and they’ve got to start picking up games if they want to have a shot this season.
A FEW POINTS: When J.O. comes back, everything is going to get fucked. If Triano can convince him to come off the bench, then he’s got more control over this team than I think he’s got. More likely: J.O.’s return pushes Il Mago back to reserve duty and the fantanking can begin in earnest.
I heard a caller in Jack Armstrong’s show on the fan590 say that he’d LIKE to see the raps finish in 8th in the east because he LIKES our chances against Boston. Huh.
Now on to the biggest news of the day: Ron Wilson had some interesting things to say about the team of players he is currently enlisted to coach. “I know where our talent level is, and when you’re not blessed with a lot of talent there will be inconsistencies,” Wilson said. This little comment is causing quite a stir, mainly due to the fact that, well, he said he players AREN’T TALENTED. Nice work, Ron. You’ve got a bunch of guys who are playing like crap at the moment, a goaltender who can’t seem to stop a puck, and now you’ve got them picking out destinations in the AHL. While you’re at it, why don’t you tell them santa isn’t real, that they’re never going to make it, their puppy didn’t actually run away, and that maybe if Lifestyles made a more reliable product that your mother and father would never have needed that shotgun wedding.
