Raptors lose to better team
Ray Allen dropped 36 and Rondo had a double-double beating the Raps 94-88.
INJURY NEWS: Jose only played 22 minutes, as his right hamstring is leaving him, well, hamstrung. Triano is saying they’re assessing him game-by-game. Awesome.
This game wasn’t close for 3 quarters, and only got remotely interesting in the last five minutes in what was basically garbage time.
It was nice to see Joey Graham get into it with Brian ‘The Big Ginger’ Scalabrine. That’s the kind of emotion that this team hasn’t shown all year (with the exception of J.O. from time to time). Now I’m not usually a proponent of these intangibles (grit, scrappiness, heart, etc.) being rated as highly as statistical performance, but after watching a lackluster performance like this one, I think emotion shouldn’t be dismissed out of hand. It has been noted that it’s tough for some players to get up for these 12:30 CBC Sunday specials, but you need to have more energy, especially against a team as talented as Boston. If that means a little barking back and forth with huge lumbering redheads, as longs as their names don’t rhyme with ‘Batt Connor’, then so be it.
The Raps have a chance to right the wrongs Monday night in Boston, although that’s looking about as likely as anyone other than Heath Ledger winning the Best Supporting Actor oscar.
See what I did there? Timely cultural reference! Hoo-Ah!
